AI Research Scientist

Job Summary: Collaborative Robotics, a fast-growing startup in Seattle, is seeking an AI Research Scientist to join the Foundational Models AI team. The role involves conducting innovative research on AI/ML algorithms for autonomous robotic systems. The ideal candidate is a recent PhD graduate with a specialization in robotics-related fields. Key responsibilities include research, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and contributing findings to academic communities. The position requires a PhD in Computer Science or related fields, expertise in AI technologies, and strong communication skills. Preferred qualifications include experience in software/data engineering, knowledge of robotics software, and a creative problem-solving mindset. The salary range is $170,000 - $190,000 with additional benefits and equity offered.

Duties: 1. Conduct groundbreaking research on AI/ML algorithms for robotic solutions. 2. Collaborate with teams to integrate AI models into real-world applications. 3. Publish research findings in academic journals and conferences.

Minimum Qualifications: - PhD in Computer Science, AI, or related field with a robotics focus. - Knowledge of modern ML architectures and deep learning frameworks. - Proficiency in designing and executing research agendas. - Strong communication and writing skills. - US work authorization required.

Preferred Qualifications: - Experience in software/data engineering best practices. - Familiarity with robotics software and simulation stacks. - Skills in experiment tooling, data pipelines, and workflow automation. - Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
